Privexa Secure External SSD

Connect the SSD to a compatible Windows computer using the included USB-C cable. Open VeraCrypt, select the encrypted volume, choose an available drive letter and enter your password.

Once unlocked, the protected SSD appears in Windows like a regular storage drive. You can open, save, transfer and organize files normally.

When finished, dismount the encrypted volume through VeraCrypt and safely eject the SSD. Its protected contents become inaccessible again until the correct password is entered.

Actual usable capacity will be lower than the advertised capacity because of formatting, encryption configuration and the way storage capacity is calculated.

The SSD delivers sequential read and write performance of up to 2,000MB/s through its USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface, providing fast access to large documents, photographs, videos, backups and project files.

Reaching the maximum advertised speed requires a computer with a compatible 20Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port and the correct cable. Computers with standard USB 3.2 Gen 2, USB 3.0 or USB-A connections will operate at the maximum speed supported by that connection.

Actual performance may be lower and depends on the computer, USB port, cable, selected capacity, file sizes, encryption settings, temperature and other operating conditions.

A forged aluminum chassis helps manage heat and maintain sustained performance. The durable silicone exterior provides additional grip and protection during everyday transportation.

IP65 resistance does not make the SSD completely waterproof. Protection can be reduced by physical damage, improper use or normal wear. The drive should not be intentionally submerged in water.

You create your own private encryption password during setup. Privexa does not need to know or retain that password.

VeraCrypt does not provide a traditional “forgot password” recovery option. If your password is forgotten and no recovery information exists, the encrypted files may become permanently inaccessible.

Customers are responsible for securely remembering their password and maintaining separate backups of essential files.

VeraCrypt requires a software driver to mount encrypted volumes on Windows. Administrator permission may be required when VeraCrypt has not previously been installed.

The SSD may not be usable on restricted workplace, school, hotel or public computers where software installation and administrator access are unavailable.

USB-A connections and USB-C ports without USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 support will operate at reduced speeds. Compatibility with mobile phones, tablets, televisions, gaming consoles and other devices is not guaranteed.

Encryption helps protect the information stored on the SSD while the VeraCrypt volume is dismounted. It cannot protect files while the encrypted storage is unlocked or when the connected computer itself is compromised.
